Graded Exams

The benefits of partaking in graded exams are tremendous from confidence building to interview preparation. The children also learn the importance of good speech in public speaking and acting techniques.

I have been with the LSMD for the past twenty years and I received a scholarship to study at Griffith College due to having these exams completed. I'd highly recommend everyone doing a grade exam as I have learned and gained so much from completing these exams

Inhouse Drama Syllabus: 4-7yrs

When taking a graded exam; your child will recite from memory two pieces of poetry and speak about a book or toy of their choice.

The examiner will ask your child questions on their chosen pieces; for example, what did they like about the poem, what did they like about the character? Was there anything they didn't like about the characters?

When the exam is over; your child will receive a certificate with their report card.

Leinster School of Music And Drama Syllabus: 8-15yrs

When taking a graded exam; your child will recite a piece of poetry, prose and act out a drama piece by heart for the examiner. The examiner will then ask your child questions on their chosen pieces; for example, what did they like about the poem, what did they like about the character? Was there anything they didn't like about the characters?

When the exam is over; your child will receive a certificate with their results and anyone who receives over 96 will be awarded a medal and be nominated for the Excellence awards held in Griffith College.

Irish Board of Speech and Drama Syllabus: 8-16yrs

*Public Speaking

When taking a graded exam; your child will prepare a talk on a particular subject and then speak about it from memory. Then either tell a tale from folklore in your own words or bring a book in the exam and describe it for the examiner

When the exam is over; your child will receive a certificate with their results and anyone who receives over 95 will be awarded a medal.
